18th Century Eagle Ring

In my opinion, THE COOLEST RING EVER!Made in the 18th Century this ring features an Eagle, made from silver, set with a Rose Cut Diamond body, Emerald and Ruby wings and a Ruby eye.The Eagle is mounted on an 18ct yellow gold shank which has been hand chased at the edge of the band.As a bird lover and a lover of good quality, old shiny things this piece really speaks to me. I love the idea that an eccentric gentleman 250-300 years ago trotted around with his bejewelled bird ring on looking fabulous.These true antique pieces are getting harder and harder to come by and so although this ring isn't perfect it's the rarity that really speaks for its value. I haven't and almost certainly never will see another one of these. This ring is modelled similarly to the Giardinetti rings of the same period but being a bird and not the typical basket of flowers really puts this ring a cut above the rest.There is one stone missing from the tail and the left hand side Emerald wing appears to be a replacement, with stones of this age being hand cut by candlelight I thought it best to leave this piece in its Antique condition rather than replace the stones with modern ones.A true collectors piece.
