Product Description
Lavaliers, popularised by the Duchess de la Vallière a mistress of King Louis XIV, hold an elegance that is hard not to fall in love with. These pendants gained popularity again in the Art Nouveau period from 1890-1910 and often feature floral designs set with precious stones and pearls. The Art Nouveau period coincided with the Suffragette movement and although this piece isn't strictly Suffragette Jewellery, I can imagine it being worn over the top of a purple scarf or wrap giving it the typical White, Green and Purple colour scheme. This particular Lavalier was made around 1900 and is set with Peridot and Pearls. The stones are a lovely Olive Green with a level of intensity not often seen in Peridot. The piece is in very good Antique condition and measures 5cm drop by 3cm wide.Marked and professionally tested for 9ct Rose Gold.Weight - 3g
