These compasses were highly popular in the Victorian era and are a staple for any jewellery enthusiast.

Compass charms were popular with the Victorians primarily due to their symbolism of travel, exploration, and guidance, reflecting the era’s fascination with both practical navigation and personal journeys. 

This particular example dates to around 1890 and is made of Sterling silver. The piece is hollow and therefore lightweight and easy to wear.

Measuring 27mm in diameter it is a larger example of these classic pendants.

Weight – 5g

Marked ‘Sterling’ on reverse – the compass itself is in base metal with a copper/rose gold colour rim.
